Quiz: Bathing In Your Own Filth

I’m sure it’s your favourite time of the week, because we’ve got another quiz on the lawn! This week the subject is a little contentious – the subject of taking a bath.

Personally, and this is my own personal view, I prefer the act of taking a shower. Kramer appears to agree, and has a few good reasons:

Yet this same man also claims to bathe:

What does this tell us? That it’s time for the answers from the last quiz.

  1. 2001: A Space Odyssey
  2. The Breakfast Club
  3. The Blues Brothers
  4. The Deer Hunter
  5. Forrest Gump or Logan Lucky
  6. Stand By Me
  7. Fight Club
  8. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
  9. An American Werewolf in London
  10. The Sopranos
  11. The Shining
  12. Back to the Future
  13. The Caddy or Moonstruck
  14. Lost in Translation
  15. Apocalypse Now
  16. Ozark
  17. Mr Bean’s Holiday
  18. Easy Rider
  19. The Graduate
  20. The Silence of the Lambs
  21. Manhunter
  22. Jackie Brown or Another Round
  23. Kill Bill: Vol. 1 or The Office (US)
  24. The Stand or Uncut Gems
  25. American Gigolo

And that’s that! There was definitely some impressive guessing last round – lets see if you can do just as well this time. The task is to simply guess what the film is from the bathtub pictured in the photo. Good luck!

So there you go! Putting this quiz together has only further removed me from the idea of baths. Not only are they filthy, they’re blumin’ dangerous too! Well, as long as films don’t lie. COMMENT MODERATION WILL BE ON! Yes, you read that right. Once you submit your guesses, they’ll be kept in moderation till I eventually release them and announce the winner. Last week it was Alex – this week, it could be YOU! Find out all the answers next week!

    1. Disappointing? I think that joke died a couple of days ago now Fraggle.

In terms of your score… well, I think you’ve won! 15 out of 16 – the wrong one is number one. Now that is disappointing.

    1. Alex won with 24 out of 25, although I suspect him of blatant cheating using the ol’ Google Search on every single one. You got 15 out of 15 – very impressive, and at least you tried to cover up your cheating. You happened to win silver. Dix got zero, as usual, as he always comes late and cheats off others answers. And, of course, I had a few other good guesses from the rest of my loyal readers. A nice level of competition.

  3. Well, obviously, the last image is of course one of the hottest shower/bath scenes of all time.

Here’s others that I’m pretty confident about:

    2) ya got Kirsten Dunst performing her ablutions in Marie Antoinette

    6) Natalie Portman about to make Black Swan the most talked-about movie of the 2010s for some-fucking-reason

    9) Cobb gets baptized. Or maybe something worse in Inception.

    11) a pretty regular night for me, a.k.a. one of the best scenes in Fear and Loathing

    14) ya got Bill Murray trying to kill himself ad infinitum in that one flick everyone nowadays wants to copy

    16) there goes creep-fuck Spacey fantasizing about young women (?!) in American Beauty

    17) I haven’t seen it but I’m thinking this is a scene from The Patient Who Happened to Be English?

    18) the scene in which Gwyneth Paltrow first conceived of her future and very silly line of beauty products, Goop, right here in this very bath tub in the house of the Royal Tenenbaums

oh let’s see here, we got . . . oh, Marilyn Monroe in the tub. I don’t really care what movie that’s from. That’s just nice.

    24) a miraculous (and well-earned) moment of scrub-a-dub-dub right before Blondie comes in fucking up the joint in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

    1. Hey Tom, thanks for playing. Now there’s the little matter of your score… 10 out of 10!

Marie Antoinette, Black Swan, and Inception all correct. Fear and Loathing is basically just a normal day in the life for film critics like us. Why is Groundhog Day copied so much? Must be the theme. All the Spacey turmoil just makes that film even weirder. The Patient Who Happened to Be English is correct. What ever happened to Gwyneth Paltrow? Now that’s worthy of an article. Marilyn Monroe in a tub is nice, isn’t it? I thought so too. And that bath scene is the Ugly in the title. And I’ll give you The Shining, even though you didn’t say it…

So, entertaining answers indeed, and not too shabby either!

      1. I’ll admit my reference to The Shining was both vague and weird haha! That’s an image that will never, EVER leave me.

  4. 1. The Godfather Part II
    2. Marie Antoinette
    3. Scarface
    4. Ghostbusters II
    6. Black Swan
    8. Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure
    9. Inception
    14. Groundhog Day
    15. Pleasantville
    16. American Beauty
    18. The Royal Tenenbaums
    21. Joker
    24. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
    25. The Shining

  5. I’m not going to even try solving this one… I see Black Swan and American Beauty there, and probably could guess a few more, but these baths generally don’t look good ๐Ÿ˜…

  6. I still prefer baths to showers, and remember thinking Amanda Barrie was very sexy in ‘Carry On Cleo’. Mind you, I was only 12 when I saw it at the cinema.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  7. I am afraid I would have to cheat to get anywhere near a decent score, but a good quiz anyway, reminding me of the many faces – and bodies – that got themselves dunked for the sake of their art.

  8. Hi, here are my guesses:

    2) Marie Antoinette
    3) Scarface
    5) Out of Sight
    6) Black Swan
    12) Fatal Attraction
    15) Pleasantville
    16) American Beauty
    18) The Royal Tenenbaums
    22) The Seven Year Itch
    24) The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
    25) Shining

I often use internet but only to look at original titles, because in Italy they are almost always translated ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. You can use the internet all you like! I don’t care, as long as you enjoy.

Your score? 11 out of 11! Not bad at all. Only 4 off the win! I think only you and one other person got 5, which is impressive indeed, and 18 and 22 ain’t bad either! Well played!

    1. Love a bit of pimping! Could probably make a quiz about pimps. The guy for The Taking of Pelham One Two Three. Done. One right there.

I’ll check out the quiz, Alex! See if you’ve got any good films in there…
