    1. Impressive! Some great stuff. Your score? 15! Nice. Not enough for another win, I’m afraid, but a very respectable placing. Your misses? 1, 3 (needed the specific film, though I can’t blame you if you didn’t get it!), 19 and 22. Other than that, plain sailing!

      1. Dam it! I’ve no way but to hide behind my black mask.

    1 – The Princess Bride
    2 – Romeo + Juliet
3 – One of the Halloween movies, but which one? I bet there’s some dedicated Michael Meyers heads that could figure it out just from that frame. I’ve seen zero movies of that franchise.
    4 – Brazil
    5 – M*A*S*H, I read the novel semi-recently I’m still not sure what I think about it
6 – HEAT, another movie on my list of “I don’t understand the hype around this”
    7 – Breakfast at Tiffany’s
8 – One of the Invisible Man movies, but which one?
    9 – Donnie Darko
10 – Gladiator, very close to being a very good movie
    11 – E.T. which I have never seen
12 – Hannibal the TV show, I think this was in the era of the villain protagonist being the fad
13 – Zorro, but which one? In my mind there made a bunch of Antonio Banderas Zorro movies but maybe it was just the one? There’s an episode of the Simpsons where they go to see the Poke of Zorro in which Zorro challenges the Scarlet Pimpernel to a duel. I want to see that movie.
    14 – Le Mans
15 – Close Encounters of the Third Kind
16 – Point Break, I was a teenager when I saw this movie and I thought the woman coming out of the shower to karate fight everyone was the greatest thing I had ever seen.
    17 – Contagion
18 – The Man in the Iron Mask, I don’t know exactly why but when I learned about this guy as a kid it really freaked me out that something like that could happen. Empirically much worse things could happen to you, but for some reason being robbed of your identity scared me.
19 – I was almost fooled into saying this was Mission Impossible but I think its Vanilla Sky
20 – Wicker Man, this movie isn’t that bad but I hate it. Not sure why.
21 – The Crazies, I enjoyed the remake even though it happened in the era of zombie fatigue
    22 – Don’t know
    23 – Don’t know
24 – Scream, but which one? I had never seen this movie until a few years ago, I was surprised by how good it was. I assumed it was garbage.
    25 – Don’t know

    1. Very well played! I’m happy to give you 21 out of your 21 guesses – which, incredibly, isn’t quite enough for the win, I believe; though getting Vanilla Sky is a feat for the ages!

My goal is to just get ONE right. After last time’s debacle I want to redeem myself, you know, like the Father Brown of movies or something 😉

    1) The Princess Bride (thank goodness for easy ones!)
    11) I have no clue but now I want to see it just because of hte yoda mask, hahahahaaa
    13) Mask of zorro?
    24) Scream

and man, some of those were just bizarro!

    1. Yep, some of them are pretty freaky – but you did achieve your goal! In fact, you’re back to the standard three out of three – that’s what I always like to see. 11 is E.T., by the way!

      1. Bookstooge says:

11 is ET? Awwwww man. I hated that movie and I’ll not watch it. Poop. A great Yoda moment down the tubes.

        1. Yeah, I’m not the biggest fan of the ol’ Extra Terrestrial either – feels a little to childish for me – but there are many great Yoda films out there for you, I’m sure!

        2. Bookstooge says:

To me, the whole “ET phone home” saccharine flavor didn’t work for me. Now if Yoda had showed up and revealed ET as a Sith, I might have enjoyed it a bit more 😉

        3. That would have been a twist we would have all liked to have seen. Think it’s one that works at around eight years old, but after that, it’s just poor Uranus jokes.

    1. Yep, they’re not a pretty bunch. Apart from times like these (where it’s probably the opposite) never trust a person wearing a mask! And, of course, glad you knew a few!

Good to see’The Wicker Man’. I noticed ‘Heat’ too. Did you ever see the original film that this was a remake of?
    I actually preferred it. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097700/
The last one is ‘Onibaba’. What a wonderful film. I saw that at the NFT in London. Classic film-making.
    Best wishes, Pete.
