Oh, the humanity. Once a staple of the greatest espionage films, advancements in glitzy technology means the phone box is a thing of the past in both real life and the movie business. But that doesn’t mean we here at Over-The-Shoulder can’t celebrate it one last time and remember some of it’s most iconic moments.

You know the drill by now: guess the film from the photo in the comments below. Remember – comment moderation is on, so I’ll be storing all the answers till a later date so it’s fair game. There’s no previous answers to go through, so lets get on with the show!

Good luck!

And a very tough little bonus…

Oooh so tough! Except for Matrix, of course, and The Conversation with Hackman, and Three Days of Condor with Redford. I guess Jerry Maguire, Heat, and Godfather, and A Hard Day’s Night, and Phone Booth with Farrell?

    2. As we already know, 23 out of 26. Incredible! 6, 14 and 24 the only ones that were wrong. How did you get CHUD? That is very impressive.

  4. It’s too hard for me ! only two numbers to dial :
    1) Duel

I know a couple of these without thinking too hard, but I’m off quizzes at the moment. I still haven’t got around to Chandler Swain’s latest one yet.
    Cheers, Pete.

    1. Think you’re quiz is better than mine. Tough, although I recognised a few there – Anchorman?

  7. Bookstooge says:

    5) Matrix

What? No Superman ones? Or were you extra tricky about that?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Did Superman use an invisibility cloak or something? Because then I could make a really witty joke…

  8. Brian Hannan says:

Not exactly the most scenic locale apart from Local Hero. Am sure there’s a film to be made about a remote phone box on a hill top or cliff.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. No, pretty grubby this week. I’ll sure to keep it spick and span next week…

It’s a good idea. Surely the phone box needs one last hurrah?

Hollywood did try to make some films set in a phone box but they didn’t take off.
